What are the perimeter space requirements for installing a CER?
In order to inhibit condensate from forming on the exterior of a Cold Room, a 2″ air gap is recommended around the perimeter of the CER. Rooms operating at colder temperatures, or in warm humid environments, may require more space. To facilitate proper room assembly, an 8″ clearance is required above the CER. This clearance may be reduced with special installation techniques that will result in a more costly installation. To facilitate maintenance of any refrigeration equipment installed on top of the CER, a 36″ minimum clearance should be provided for maintenance personnel.
