SAP NW PI 7.1 introduces 3 techniques for improved performance: • Direct Connections, in order to skip traffic through SAP NW PI; • Packaging, in order to group the processing of messages; • Local processing in the Advanced Adapter Engine, in order to boost performance in the supported scenarios. A very important fact about the synchronous messages is that SAP NW PI 7.1 has the capability to process small synchronous messages locally on the Advanced Adapter Engine faster than before, what from a positioning perspective makes it more appropriate for some customer scenarios previously not so well supported.
