• must be only single-byte characters • are case sensitive • must be at least 8 characters long • must not be longer than 31 characters • cannot contain any spaces • can contain numbers (0-9), upper and lower case letters (A-Z, a-z), hyphens (-), underscores (_), periods (.), and the @ character • must contain at least one uppercase and one lower case alphabet • must contain at least two numeric or special characters (hyphens (-), underscores (_), periods (.), and the @ character) • cannot contain the UserID • cannot contain 4 character sequence that are of the same character (eg. aaaa12XY is invalid) • cannot contain any of the last 10 passwords • cannot contain the word “password” • ibm.com will be expiring passwords for all Fluor users every 90 days.
