A pairing indicates the depiction of a romantic relationship within the story. Popular pairings such as John/Elizabeth, John/Teyla, Rodney/Elizabeth, Elizabeth/Teyla, or John/Rodney are never to be considered “Gen”, even if any future shows or movies make the pairing canonical. Stories related to any alternate reality episodes in which the pairing is or becomes a couple are to be considered Het or Slash (where appropriate) and labeled as Alternate Universe.
