In each room and foyer of a residential type building other than in the laundry, bathroom, and unfinished portion of the cellar, basement or attic, at least one receptacle outlet shall be provided for every fifteen linear feet or major fraction thereof, of the total gross distance around the room as measured horizontally along the wall line except that an opening six feet or more in width with no provisions for doors therein may be excluded from this requirement.
