What are the other assignments for the Fellowship beyond the clinical training at Kaiser?
A. If you take the Fellowship, you are required to design and implement a culminating teaching project in your own community during the 3-4 months after completing the clinical training of Advanced Fellowship at Kaiser. Individuals who seek recognition as a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical therapists must complete the Pre-Mentorship Independent Study Period, Mentorship, Advanced Fellowship, culminating teaching project, and selected course work in the basic and applied sciences (e.g. anatomy, biomechanics) within a 3-year period to meet APTA standards. Most therapists complete all “fellowship” requirements within18 -20 months. You are not required to be living or working in California while you are finishing your Fellowship projects.
