What are the opportunities for studying Serbian/Croatian and Slovene?
The Department is one of the oldest and strongest centres for the study of these subjects in the country. Serbian/Croatian and Slovene may be studied as minor subjects for a shorter or longer time, or to degree level. Classes develop the skills of comprehension of written and spoken Serbian/Croatian or Slovene, composition, translation and oral fluency. The Department offers modules in Serbian and Croatian literature, history and culture which focus on the modern period but given an introduction to earlier developments.
