The die cutter unit has a capital cost of approximately $250K, the die cutter is capable of reaching cycles above 1 million cuts, if set up properly. The die roll, also know as the knife roll can be replaced at an estimated cost of approximately $30k. I believe they are currently replaced every 10 to 12 months. The die cutter is driven by a 20-hp DC motor. The die cutter requires a dedicated and trained maintenance technician as well as specialized set up equipment. I’d estimate that the initial set up equipment and training cost is approximately $7500.
