Shops are generally open in the medina all week from 0900 to 1900 except Friday 0900 to 1200 and 1600 to 1900. In the new part of town, Guéliz, shops open Monday to Saturday from 0900 to 1230 and 1530 to 1900. Many, but not all shops close for lunch, and some close on Friday. Many shops in the souks remain open on Sunday and public holidays.
