What Are the Objectives of the Lesson Plans?
1) Emphasizes the process, not the end product. Unlike a regular art class, IDEA@thebass lesson plans are not primarily designed to improve students’ artistic skills or teach them about art history. Stick figures and rough drafts are fine. 2) Uses works of art to stimulate thinking about real-life issues or situations. This is a non-traditional approach that uses works of art to teach children about living in the 21st century. Each image will stimulate actions, emotional responses and thought processes that children can relate to. In some cases, the projects will have nothing to do with the supposed intention of the artist or the historical “context” of the artwork.
