What are the objectives of Rockford Promise?
Rockford Promise has objectives for students of the Rockford Public School system and for our community as a whole. Student objectives are to support students in their career vision and to give them the financial support that will allow them to achieve that vision, to increase the number of students who graduate from high school, to increase the number of students who complete a post-secondary education program and are gainfully employed in the Rockford area. Community objectives are to promote regional economic development, to revitalize the community by o retaining existing employers and attracting new employers who want an educated workforce, o attracting potential employers who offer well-paying jobs, to encourage new housing development and increase the value of existing real estate, to enhance cultural opportunities through a more educated populace, and to increase the value and importance of education.
