What are the objectives and provisions of the current IPPC Directive?
The Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control Directive was adopted in 1996 and had to be transposed into the national legislation of EU member states by Oct. 30, 1999. This was also the application date for new installations, while all existing installations had to fully comply by Oct. 30, 2007.
