WHAT ARE THE NVQ QUALIFICATIONS FOR DENTAL NURSING?
NVQs are of various levels and for dental nursing the NVQs are at Levels 2 and 3. Candidates do not have to progress through the Levels first entry for dental nursing can be at either Level 2 or 3. Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing level 2 is focussed on the role of a support worker in oral health. It requires ability to practise safely in a surgery, control infection, provide basic life support, communicate effectively with patients and provide information on oral health and prescribed dental treatments. Oral Health Care: Dental Nursing level 3 is focussed on direct chairside activities and support for a range of treatments.
