What are the numbers shown with each course?

0

Each course at the University is given a six-digit number (where the first number is zero, it is frequently dropped). The first three digits define the Department which offers the course (i.e. History is 011, Economics is 018, Sociology is 077), the last three define the course. Thus, 017.120 (or 17.120) is Psychology 120. If the course is at the 100-level (120 in this example), it is a first-year (introductory) course. Courses at the 200 and 300-level are second and third year courses, 400-level courses are normally Honours or Advanced program courses, and 500 to 800-level courses are Graduate courses.
