There are a number of different banks in Pakistan. Some of them are government owned. However, most of them are owned by the Private sector. According to Securities and Exchange commission of Pakistan, there are 39 scheduled banks in Pakistan. Apart from that there are 6 Micro finance banks and eight development Financial Institutions. Also there are 8 banks operating as Investment Banks.
