What are the non-monetary costs involved in having a website?
You cannot expect the web designer/webmaster to make bricks without strawor mud for that matter. This means that the chapter needs to organize an energetic website committee with members who are willing to set goals and to deliver the raw materials needed to build a website to the web designer/webmaster. Time and effort substitute for cold cash in this instance. The committee chair should make sure that each committee member follows through on her assigned task in a timely fashion. For example, it takes a persistent person to find chapter members who have good anecdotes for our Sea Stories page and to get them to write up their entertaining stories. When the members submit their anecdotes, an editor is needed to put them into publishable form. Art work and music require the same dedication to locate or create. Websites also need to be illustrated with photos. Obtaining good photographs should not be left up to chance. Someone needs to be assigned to take photographs of important events
