• ESI Nodes indicates the actual number of ESI devices detected communicating on this segment. (This count will be zero if no IP PBX system is installed.) On the segment where the IP PBX resides, this count will include the IP PBX and all the IP Feature Phones on the network (on- and off-hook). On segments with only IP Phones, this count will include the IP Phones attached to the segment along with the IP PBX. • Segment Nodes indicates the number of network devices, other than ESI devices, communicating over the segment. On the head-end segment, where the server and gateway reside, this count will include most — if not all — of the network devices on the network. On a user segment, this count will include the computers (and other devices) connected to the segment — along with the devices with which they’re communicating, such as the gateway and the server.
