What are the new set-aside categories for the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) program?

0

On October 7, 2010, the U.S. Small Business Administration published a final rule effective February 4, 2011, aimed at expanding federal contracting opportunities for women-owned small businesses (WOSBs). The Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contract program authorizes contracting officers to set aside federal contracts for certain eligible businesses (also see FAR subpart 6.207): • Women-owned small businesses (WOSBs) or • Economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs) The two associated set-aside categories in FBO are Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Economically Disadvantaged WOSB. These set-aside types can be selected in the search function to display solicitations that apply to either of these set-asides. The Small Business Administration website has more information on the Women-Owned Small Business Program including a Fact Sheet, FAQs, and Compliance Guides.
