The Guidelines 2000 for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiac Care: An international consensus on science, were published in August 2000 as a supplement to Circulation, Volume 102, Number 8 (http://circ.ahajournals.org/content/vol102/issue90001/index.shtml#ECC_GUIDELINES). The Guidelines were developed by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) and are the result of an international consensus on science to update previous recommendations for CPR and ECC. The Guidelines are based on published scientific evidence and all of the recommendations underwent thorough, evidence-based review.
