What are the negative aspects of Neolithic Revolution?
Slavery. Before this revolution, people were considered equals. But when people settled into one area, humans were seen as things, just like land or material possessions. Possession. People began to help each other less, and become more and more concerned about their own land mass, heightening tensions within villagers. This would expand and because battles, which became wars…all over pieces of land. Land Erosion. The sedentary lifestyles of the former nomads began a period of erosion for the land and soil they were farming. They rotated and slashed-and-burned crops, but eventually a soil will just give up all its nutrients. This began the search for natural resources. Disease. Because nobody was moving around, diseases were more easily spread. Not just because of this, but also life expectancies were shorter for Neolithic people as opposed to hunter-gatherers.
