What are the names of some theatres in elizabethan times?
The Globe was of course, The House of Shakespeare. there was in about this time a Strand theatre also. Name literally means shore- don”t get (Stranded) there was a poem about a pirate type Sir Patrick Spence-nothing to do with Shakespeare and eac stanza concluded-comes sailing to the strand. I thought they meant the Book Store still very much alive-l8 miles of books, in the Village! No they werehn”t around in those times. There was a Strand theatre in England.
