What are the names associated with different types of closets?
There are two very basic types of closet types. Walk-ins and reach-ins. Obviously a walk-in closet is one, such as in a master bedroom, that you can enter and move around in and might be as small as 48″ x 48″ or as large as a small bedroom. Most often this type of closet has a single, hinged door that closes and latches shut. A reach-in closet is usually only 24″ deep and anywhere from 24″ to 8′ wide. Basically this type of closet you stand outside and reach in to place or remove items. Sometimes referred to as a wall closet. The reach-in closet can have many different types of doors and door combinations. More typically are a single or double swing-out hinged door(s), pocket doors, bi fold, or sliding doors.
