I believe the most successful examples of service and organizational innovation and transformation in healthcare is the understanding that you get what you pay for. More healthcare environments need to come to the realization that you cannot expect a person making $8 an hour to be able to provide the proper service/treatment the public demands of them and the company that they work for. I unfortunately have not seen this (paying a respectable salary to our healthcare providers… excluding the high end such as doctors…) in action but I have no doubt that the facility would have less turn over, less complaints from patients/residence/customers/family members than if you had someone less qualified. Higher scores on state inspection, better customer service, happier employees… the list goes on.
