What are the most serious side effects of Neurontin?
After experience with more than two million people, Neurontin (gabapentin) has not been found to injure the liver, kidneys, or blood cells. (Injuries of this type have occurred with some other seizure medicines.) Most people who take Neurontin have mild side effects that go away with no lasting harm, or even no side effects at all. Neurontin appears to be an exceptionally safe medicine. Indeed, no life-threatening reactions have been attributed to it. As with any medication, however, a very small number of people (well under 1%) have serious reactions, as described in the package insert. In rare cases, Neurontin has made absence or myoclonic seizures worse. One other warningIt’s not unusual for Neurontin to make people feel a bit sleepy or uncoordinated.
