The College of Southern Nevada combines classroom teaching and lab practice to fully educate students about surgical technology. This Surgery Tech school requires students to complete 61.5 hours of credits before being awarded an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology. Courses that are typical to the Surgery Tech school’s curriculum include anatomy & physiology, surgical fundamentals, pharmacology & anesthesia, medical terminology and microbiology for surgical tech. Completion of the Surgery Tech program takes 12 months, and clinical practice is divided into progressively more technical skill areas. Students who graduate from this Surgery Tech school will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to apply for national certification as a Surgical Technologist.
