According to Google AdSense, the top three formats are the (1) 336×280 large rectangle, (2) the 300×250 medium rectangle, and the (3) 160×600 wide skyscraper. An advertiser also wants to be certain that it chooses the best format for its own sites, as there can be huge variability, as you know, in site design.
