Washington residents who became parents last year were fond of the names Isabella and Alexander for their children. The Social Security Administration announced Friday that those were the most popular baby names in the state for 2009. Isabella was followed by Olivia, Sophia, Emma and Abigail for girls. For boys, Alexander was followed by Jacob, Ethan, William and Daniel. Isabella was also the most popular girl’s name nationally last year. Jacob was the number one name for boys nationally.
