The first thing to do is to check that they are licensed, bonded and insured. Ask if they are affiliated with your local utility referral programs. Make sure they have adequate insurance, including Workman’s Compensation insurance. Lack of Workman’s Comp. could leave you open to a lawsuit if someone were to get injured on your property.
