Zakynthos has over 30 superb beaches, the most famous being Laganas Beach which is approx 9 km and has a long stretch of golden sand – it is thought to be one of the longest beaches in Greece. The beach is part of the national marine park set up to protect the endangered loggerhead turtles which come to nest here.
