A4. The most common side effects of SSRIs include insomnia, sedation, headache, diarrhea, constipation, nausea, weight loss or gain, sexual dysfunction, fatigue, or feeling “jittery”. Most side effects improve within a few days to a week or two, but sexual side effects may not improve for 1 to 3 months after starting the medication.
