The most commonly reported side effects are temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. There are occasional reports of bruising; however this can be minimized by discontinuing the use of Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, Gingko Biloba and a variety of other substances prior to the procedure. Also, if you have ever experienced a cold sore around the lip, there is a risk of developing one because of the needle punctures in that area. Be sure to inform the doctor and she will prescribe an antiviral medicine that will prevent this from occurring.
