What are the most common problems with a faulty hard-drive.?
hi mate most of todays hard drives are quite reliable however when they do go wrong,the main reasons are mechanical problems such as the platter(s) have become worn or the read arm has stopped working hard drives consist of many sectors and if any of these become corrupt then this can make the drive unworkable,however utilitys such as Data Lifeguard Tools 11.2 for Windows (http://support.wdc.com/download/index.as… ,this will search your drive and if any bad sectors are discovered they will be disabled another program called “seatools” (http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support… have used this utility and i re-juvenated a old 80gb ide drive which was basically totally broke,however after about 2 hours and 3 to 4 disabled sectors and the drive is still working today(i used it in a external drive caddy) the main issue th
