Some common medical conditions associated with birth injury include cerebral palsy, brachial palsy (Erb’s palsy), bone fractures, infection, paralysis, and wrongful death. Minor bruising or swelling on the baby’s head, and more serious brain damage due to lack of oxygen and impaired blood flow to the brain during labor also can result in birth injury.
