What are the most common causes of truck accidents?
This depends on who is at fault. In cases where the truck driver is at fault, the accidents are most commonly caused by fatigue, not securing loads correctly, speeding, driving without proper training or certification, not allowing enough brake time, mechanical failure and difficulty controlling the vehicle in bad weather. When passenger car drivers are at fault, the most common causes are drinking and driving, cutting off trucks, following too close or passing the truck when it’s unsafe to do so.
