What are the moral and ethical issues involved?
The moral and ethical issues involved with the use of worldwide information systems deal with the appropriate access to information, the type of information, and the behavior of the user. The SBCEO wants to provide you with a stimulating educational environment, while protecting you from information that is not appropriate for students to use. It is important to acknowledge that inappropriate information exists on the system, and we will do everything we can to make a responsible effort to actively avoid them. It should be clearly understood by all students that access to unacceptable materials in any form is strictly forbidden. The network is designed to achieve and support instructional goals. Any information that does not support classroom learning is to be avoided. Although the actual amount of unacceptable material is small, it can cause concern for students and parents if a student stumbles on the information while doing legitimate research.
