There are several requirements for running VMware Go and implementing the VMware vSphere Hypervisor environment that VMware Go helps you create and manage. VMware Go verifies the compatibility of your hardware for use as a vSphere Hypervisor host by checking it against VMware’s compatibility list. If your machine is not on the hardware compatibility list, VMware Go will then check if the machine meets the minimal requirements to run as a Hypervisor. vSphere Hypervisor is based on the ESXi hypervisor architecture and has the same hardware compatibility list as ESXi. See the ESXi hardware compatibility list.
