What are the minimum requirements of GRE scores?
The GRE (recommended) is an important exam score to submit with applications (include raw scores, percentiles, and exam dates). If these scores are very high, often they will be enough for us to act on an application. We generally look for very strong GRE quantitative and analytical scores, a GRE verbal score at or above the 35th percentile. These scores are not required but are used as part of the overall decision-making process along with other criteria.
The UNL Department of Chemistry does not require GRE scores for application; however, we strongly encourage students to submit GRE scores with their application. The GRE is an important exam score to submit and we ask that students please include raw scores, percentiles, and exam dates when submitting scores with their applications. High GRE scores may encourage the UNL Department of Chemistry to act on an application. We generally look for very strong GRE quantitative and analytical scores as well as a GRE verbal score at or above the 35th percentile. Again, these scores are not required, but if provided, are used as part of the overall admissions decision making process along with other criteria.
