What are the minimum requirements for the computer equipment and software needed to access NYSIIS?
• To receive the full benefit of NYSIIS, a provider will need to have a computer with reliable public internet access, preferably with a dedicated, high speed connection. The following are minimum hardware and software requirements to access NYSIIS: • Hardware: • Pentium 500 MHz computer • 64 MB RAM • 500 MB free disk space • Screen display set at 800 x 600, 256 colors; 1024×768 • Software: • Internet Browser Software – Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher • Netscape is not currently an approved browser by New York State’s Office for Technology; however, certification for use with NYSIIS has been requested. • Microsoft Windows 98 or higher • Adobe Reader 6 or higher • For networked computers, port 443 of the network firewall must be open for outgoing HTTPS.
