What are the minimum legal or severance costs for the company which dismisses its employee?
There is unfortunately no statutory one-size-fits-all provision and the legal and severance costs will vary considerably according to many different criteria, however each employee who is subject to dismissal would in theory be entitled to payments under the following heads Compensation for the notice period, Compensation for holiday/vacation not taken, Statutory Compensation for dismissal – or if more favourable to the employee, compensation for dismissal provided by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (usually as from two years of service with the company).
