What are the minimum hardware specs for the hotspot servers?
We don’t require much; in fact, it’s hard to find stuff this low power 🙂 We require at least Pentium-class, 64MB RAM, 500MB hard drive, 2 NICs, and a CD-ROM drive. We recommend NICs based on the Intel Pro 100. For a complete list of supported NICs see http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Hardware-HOWTO/nic.html. If you do not have the inclination or time to build your own, you can purchase a pre-built, tested, and warrantied Hotspot Server from us. We can build to most any form factor and can use refurbished equipment as an option to reduce costs.
