These are the minimum DOCSIS protocol requirements: • Time of Day (ToD) Server • Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) • Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP) ToD is required; however, Cable Labs has made some modifications that relax this condition. Therefore, it is possible that other cable modem vendors will come online even though they do not pass ToD. If you have Baseline Privacy Interface (BPI) enabled, BPI will be an additional requirement.
