The MorningStar Academy online school has been designed to work well with a wide range of computers. The minimum requirements are: a Pentium III processor, 64K RAM, 6 gig hard drive, floppy drive, CD-ROM drive, and a 56K modem or faster connection. Do I need to upgrade to DSL to view the lessons? No, an upgrade to DSL is not necessary to view the lessons. The CDs sent to you with each course contain all the audio and video information your student will need to complete their lessons in addition to the text of the lesson. These can be played in your computer’s CD drive and do not rely on an internet connection to be viewed. Will your program work with a Macintosh? Most modern computers can easily handle the web collaboration as long as the following requirements are met: Windows computer. Pentium 1 GHz processor is preferred. Apple Mac is not supported. Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser to be version 5.0 or higher. It does not support Netscape. In addition to your Internet connection (cable, DSL, or phone dial up), you will need another phone to hear the audio. The visuals are transmitted to your browser using the web collaboration software (via your cable, DSL, or dial up connection) and the audio is through the telephone, therefore with your internet access you need a simultaneous telephone line. Your browser must be Java enabled.
