What are the middle level research based systemic components that should be addressed (e.g. Turning Points 2000)?
Junior high and middle schools are expected to address all of the research based strategies identifies in the Guidance on page 4 and below. If a junior high or middle school would like to site research from Turning Points 2000 or other middle level research based articles, books or studies as justification for the strategies and steps proposed as part of a CSR application that is acceptable. 1. Implement a post secondary education preparation strategy that involves every student and faculty member and includes: a. The elimination of tracking and sorting practices so that students are heterogeneously grouped in all classes, b. A rigorous curriculum for all students that improves high school achievement, reduces college remediation, increases college completion and is evaluated by common assessments included in the Comprehensive Assessment System, c.
