What are the MHSA Strategies for Older Adults?
A. A county-wide system of care is being developed to serve the mental health needs of older adults. Older Adult System of Care Projected Start Date: NYD In collaboration with other community agencies, Monterey County Adult Behavioral Health is in the process of compiling an inventory of existing services and resources in an effort to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment. Integrated Care for Older Adults Projected Start Date: NYD. This strategy is still in the planning phase and services will be based on results from a county-wide assessment of existing (and needed) programs providing services to older adults. Supportive Housing (Drake House) Project Start Date: July 2006 Front St. Inc. provides 24-hour residential care and supervision for older adults with serious mental illness. So far 19 older adults have been placed.
