What are the MHSA Strategies for Children (Ages 0-18)?
A. All MHSA strategies for Children are part of the Monterey County System of Care: La Familia Sana/The Healthy Family. Multi-Lingual Parenting Classes (Parent Education Partnership) Services offered since August 2006, Spanish language services anticipated to begin in January 2007. Community Human Services, Salinas Adult School, Alisal Healthy Start, Soledad Unified School District and North Monterey County Unified School District are part of the Parent Education Partnership which offers parent education classes for at risk youth and families. Classes are based on Triple P, an evidence-based curriculum, developed to prevent severe behavioral, emotional and developmental problems in children by enhancing the knowledge, skills and confidence of parents. Family Preservation (Home Partners Program) Expansion of Existing Services. Additional Monterey County Childrens Behavioral Health staff has been hired to expand Home Partner services to youth at risk of being removed from their home. The
