What are the merits of having an encryption standard for doing business over the Net?
Stewart Baker: What we need for Internet transactions is a secure payment system. Those systems will use encryption. Once we have those, there won’t be a risk of credit card fraud and impersonation. Businesses will still want some encryption to make sure their trade secrets are protected, but we could have a very robust economy in cyberspace if we just have digital signatures and cryptography for credit cards. Diva: We’re out of time for today, unfortunately, so we’ll say goodbye. Thank you again, Stewart, for joining us today. Stewart Baker: It was a pleasure.
