Hemetemesis or blood vomit is caused due to any upper gastrointestinal tract bleeding… The medicines which cause gastric and the peptic ulcer can cause bleeding… These drugs include 1) All NSAIDS like Diclofenac, Aspirin, indomethacin, Aceclofenac, Ibuprofen (EXCEPT paracetamol and selective cox2 inhibitors like celecoxib and rofecoxib will not cause ulcer) 2) All steroids, Except those used for inhalational purposes like for bronchial asthma 3) All bisphosphonates like alendronate, etidronate, pamidronate ahich are used for osteoporosis All these drugs can cause hemetemesis when taken withoot protection…
