What are the measures to be taken to control leaf spot ?
Lead spot disease in mulberry is caused by the fungal pathogen Cercospora moricola. The incidence of disease is more during rainy season. The diseased leaves have a number of circular or irregular brownish black spots of varying sizes.. Serverly affected leaves become yellowish and fll prematurely. To check the spread of the disease, it is advisable to go for plantation with wider spacing. The infected leaves must be collected and burn them. Two sprays of 0.2% Bavistin at an interval of 10-15 days ( safe period 4 days) will help to check the spread of disease.
