What are the measures being taken/proposed to deal with traffic and safety issues during construction?
Mumbai Metro is committed to ensure proper safety and traffic management during construction phase by following world class practices. Some of the measures being taken are: Traffic Management Plan and Traffic Diversion Plan is being worked out in consultation with international consultants and Traffic Police. Appropriate signages will be provided to ensure smooth traffic flow. Experienced and well equipped contractors, fully aware of the international standards in Safety will be deployed. Proper barricading of construction area will be done. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to all the workers engaged in construction activities. Proper dust control measures will be taken. High tech equipments will be used to control noise pollution. Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) plan being prepared as per international standards. Development of GREEN BELT in Depot area and along the corridor.
