What are the meanings for different colors of roses?
Red roses are the traditional symbol for romantic love. Pink roses are admiration and gratitude. White roses are traditionally associated with new beginnings. Also a symbol of honor and reverence, they’re often used as an expression of remembrance. Yellow roses are friendship. Orange roses are desire. There’s no such thing as a black rose. Some are a deep deep red, and some florists will dry and then dye fresh roses black. There’s a lot of disagreement on what sending a black rose means. Many say black represents death and can be used as a symbol to express vengeance towards an enemy, and others say that black roses mean the death of old habits, thus signalling rebirth. Purple is enchantment or love at first sight. Peach can be either sympathy or gratitude.
